There are so many complexities of modern day politics, particularly presidential politics, that complicate matters greatly. Following Thursday's debate, it has become clear that President Biden would be unable to lead our country for another 4 years. As so many have stated, for the sake of our democracy, President Biden should step aside promptly and allow a younger, more vigorous and hopefully moderate candidate run for the presidency of our great country.
With regret, I agree with you that it is time for Biden to step aside. I hope people he trusts can be tactful and forceful enough to overcome his denial. Just as I still wish such people had been able to persuade Ruth Bader Ginsburg to resign so she could have been replaced by someone who shared her judicial philosophy.
Great points to consider. One thought is that not personalities or individual strength, but teamwork and organizations, should be competing more. The strengths of the Biden Administration and all Cabinet Members should be involved in the campaign, depending on the topic at hand and the specialists involved. Pit them against the Trump Administration (whatever that is).
Of course you’re right. But we need teams empowered to problem solve without fear. I suspect the team Biden people weren’t being tough enough on him about actual campaign strategy and prep. Thanks Ron!

Yes yes alas. Thanks Joe

I guess I'm not the first to see the medieval/modern parallels.....uses and abuses of history plague us all. Thanks for the comment, Sam
Here’s hoping about Biden. I didn’t know that trial by combat was so formalized or lasted so long. I guess this is better, but hard t say how much.
Brook,

Good points. Biden people hadn't considered their jobs being life-threatening. They have to build backbones like military soldiers.
Interesting, although you failed to mention Rudy Giuliani's unfortunate call for a "trial by combat" at the January 6th rally ....
